Michael Thomas Newman

Michael T. Newman, age 72 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Michael was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 26, 1952 to Charles and Joyce (Rogers) Newman. He worked for BFI Landfill, then for Waste Management. He later worked for Manpower. He loved camping in the U.P. Michael deeply loved his wife and his family.

Michael is survived by his wife Juanita Newman; his children: Eric (Sommer) Newman, Jason (Chad) Pankey, and Elizabeth (William) Boright; his sister Debbie (Steve) Laucks; his brother Charles (Carolynn) Newman; his grandchildren: Noah Boright, Miles Boright, Lailah Boright, Taiylor Newman, Ian Neveu, Shianne Newman, Mikayla Newman, Austin Newman, Iyzella Carrick, and Duncan McClelland; and his great-grandchildren: Savanah, Serenity, Saniyah, Rylee, Justin, Kimberly, Charlotte, Charles, Dimitri, Zoey, and Peyton. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles & Joyce Newman, his grandmother Ida Newman, and his Grandfather & Grandmother Rogers.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Kittle Hall on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
