Michael L. Mclaughlin

Michael L. McLaughlin, age 66 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Michael was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan on May 20, 1951 to Benjamin and Eleanor (Holtzman) McLaughlin and grew up in St. Clair Shores, MI. He moved with his family to Mio in 1973. He served his country in the US Army. Mike also worked as a Machinist in his younger years. Mike was a Founding Member of the Luzerne American Legion Post #162. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and hunting, but most of all, he loved his family and the get-togethers; drinking beer and playing cards.

Michael is survived by his children: Kristi McLaughlin and Kimberly McLaughlin (Mike Minthorn); his grandchildren: Cameron Thurston and Cassy Thurston; his sisters: Vivian, Joyce and Lisa; and his brothers: Dennis, Kenny, Kevin and Jerry; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Eleanor and Benjamin; his brothers: Mickey, Ronald, and David; and his sisters: Leatrice, Nancy, and Linda.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering and Service for Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Luzerne American Legion Post #162.
