Michael "Blondie" J. Drake

Michael J. “Blondie” Drake, age 71 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
Michael was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 8, 1951. He was an alter boy at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Waterford. He married Sue Nantais on September 13, 1969 in Hamtramck, Michigan. Blondie worked for many years as a High/Low driver. The couple moved to Mio in 1982 from Hamtramck. Blondie was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are his wife Sue Drake of Mio, MI; his children: Thomas Edward (Virginia) Drake of Fairview, MI; Doreen Catherine Drake of Roseville, MI; and Marie Lynn Drake of Madison Heights, MI; his sister Doreen Emerson of Texas; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Marie Drake; and his brothers: Wally Antkowiak, Jerry Antkowiak, and Frank Gawronski.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial services are planned. Interment of ashes will be at All Saints Cemetery, Waterford, Michigan.
