Mavis I. Wilson

Mavis I. Wilson, age 93 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Fairview, MI on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Mavis was born in Lake Orion, Michigan on August 14, 1925 to Edward and Edith (Voss) Kowalski. She graduated from Lake Orion High School. Mavis lived in Rochester, Michigan until settling in Mio, Michigan in 1972. She retired from Mio AuSable Schools after working there as a cook for many years. Mavis enjoyed playing BINGO.

Mavis is survived by her children: Mike (Sandra) Wilson of Mio, MI; Genevieve Maxwell of Evart, MI; Penny Vanderhoff of Marion, MI; and Stephen (Ilene) Wilson of Frederic, MI; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis Wilson, and many brothers and sisters.

Visitation on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 12 Noon with Pastor Harvey Fry officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.

Memorial donations may be made to Lydia’s Gate or to The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services.
