Maryann Dierck

Maryann Dierck, age 78 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at The Villa at Rose City on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.
Maryann was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 23, 1938 to Clement and Leona Luzcak. She married Darrel Dierck in Bay City in 1956. The couple moved to Mio where Maryann worked for both the Leaf’s Mug & Jug and Mio Shell. She also had been a driver for the Amish Community. Darrel preceded her in death in 1972. She and Arnold “Chico” Chicha began a relationship that lasted for 38 years until his death in 2008. Maryann was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She also had been a member of the Mio Dummettes and had bowled for many years. Maryann enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and taking care of her dogs.
Maryann is survived by her children: Darrel Michael Dierck of Portland, OR; Karin Ann Bowers of Mio, MI; and Darin James Dierck, also of Mio, MI; her brothers: Dr. Gerald (Margaret) Luczak of Saginaw, MI and Tom (Jan) Luczak of Bay City, MI; her grandchildren: Sunny, Trinity, Nichole, Holly, Shelli, Brandon, Ryan, and Alivia; and her great-grandchildren: Jack, Jenna, Hailey, Austin, Hunter, Lea, Sophia, and Isabella. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrel Dierck; her brothers: The Reverend Father Ralph Luzcak and Gene Luczak; her sister Donna Keyser; her son Joseph Roy Dierck; her long-time companion Arnold “Chico” Chicha; and her daughter-in-law Ericka Dierck.
Visitation on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 3 – 9 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with a Prayer Service at 7 PM offered by St. Mary Parish. She will lie in state at St. Mary Catholic Church on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 10 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Fr. Santiago Hoyumpa as Celebrant. In accordance with Maryann's wishes, cremation will follow. Interment of ashes at a later date at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
