Mary Patricia Mcgregor

Mary P. McGregor, age 68 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Mary was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on January 20, 1953 to Clare G. Haley and Betty Lou McGregor.  She received an Associate’s Degree from Michigan State University in Social Work. Mary married David Knies on March 5, 1991 on the beach in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The couple lived in Florida, Virginia, New York, and in Pontiac, Michigan, settling in Mio, Michigan 4 years ago. Mary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio. She had enjoyed art (especially painting) and ancestry (tracing her Scottish heritage).

Mary is survived by her husband David Knies of Mio, MI; her children: Donny (Christine) Duquette of Waterford, MI; Carissa Magone of Eldersburg, MD; and Ian (Amy) Gallardo of Virginia Beach, VA; her mother-in-law Elizabeth Knies of Farmville, VA; her sister Ellyn (Kimbrell) Franklin of Holly, MI; and 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Jacob, Sara, Gabe, Aiden, and Sabrina. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Timmy, Synda, and infant brother Anthony.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio, MI with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the needs of the family.
