Martin Timothy (“Tim”) Galbraith – Born February 1, 1937 to George and Mary (Hatzke) Galbraith was raised on the Family Farm in Mio, Michigan. A graduate of Mio AuSable Schools, he married Sally J. Hubbard of Kneeland, Michigan on June 18, 1960. Together they continued the operation of the family farm which presently is operated by the fourth and fifth generations. As the family grew Tim cut pulp wood seasonally and later became broker-owner of State Wide Real Estate of Mio, which he operated with his wife and son Thomas. He served the community by serving on the Mio AuSable School Board and the Oscoda County Road Commission. He was member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio, Michigan.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and their spouses: John (Irene Heller), Paul (Audrey Perry), Francis (Jewell Hatchett), James (Jean Hamil), Leo (Patricia Layman) and Thomas (Julia Bailey); his sisters Matilda, Margaret (Fred) Kauffman and their spouses: his brother in-law Robert Klemens, his wife of 60 years Sally, his son Thomas G, his daughter Linda, and his grandchildren Timothy Leblanc and Sarah Frew.
He is survived by his sister Agnes (Robert) Klemens, his children and their spouses: Sharon (Dana) Leblanc, Martin P. (Barbara DeFrain), Mary Frew, Julie (John) Bureau, Paula Galbraith, Mark (Catalina Gonzalez), his daughter-in-law Ann (McDowell) Galbraith, six grandsons, eight granddaughters and seven great-grand children.
Visitation 4-8 PM Tuesday, August 6, 2024 with a Prayer Vigil Service beginning at 7 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Visitation also on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, from 10-11 AM with a Rosary ay 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Santiago Hoyumpa officiating. Interment following at Kittle Cemetery, Mio.
Memorials may be made in Tim's memory to St. Mary Shrine Restoration Fund.
