Marlene L. Smith

Marlene L. Smith, age 78 of Sterling, MI, formerly of Mio, Michigan, passed away Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland, MI on Monday, October 30, 2017.

Marlene was born in Flint, Michigan on February 7, 1939 to Stanley and Leona (Diamond) Linda. She graduated from Pinconning High School. Marlene married Harold "Sonny" Smith in 1960. The couple moved to Mio, Michigan in 1990 from Birch Run, Michigan. Marlene had worked at the Mio Moose Lodge and also at the Eagles in Comins. She had enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the casino, and shopping.

Marlene is survived by her husband Harold "Sonny" Smith of Sterling, MI; her son Mike (Merideth) Smith of Fairview, MI; 2 sisters: Norma Schofield  and Anita Meikle; her grandchildren: Andrew Smith, Jennifer Herzburg, Brayden Smith, Trennen Smith, and Tanyon Smith; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Daphne Smith.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned.
