Mrs. Marion Dora (Barnett), Galer, Eicks, age 105, passed away Friday, April 11th, 2008 while in the company of family members, at her home in Mio.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services with interment of ashes will be held at Luzerne Cemetery at a later date.
Marion was born on May 12, 1902 in Port Huron, MI to the late George & Caroline Barnett. She later moved to the south west area of The United States, where she met and married George Galer. The couple moved to Mio in the late 1920's, building their home on Mapes Road. She enjoyed traveling, spending winters in the south west and Mexico. Following George's death in 1975, she married Henry Eicks. He also preceded her in death.
Marion was a homemaker and will be remembered as a fabulous cook. She loved animals, especially her cats, she also enjoyed reading and taking care of others.
Marion is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Brown of Mesa, AZ; a son, David Galer of Mio; her grandchildren: Richard, Susan and Sally Galer, Anita Fry, Steven Brown and Colleen Mapes and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
