Marilyn Jean Dennis

Marilyn Dennis, age 88 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at Munson HealthCare Grayling Hospital in Grayling, Michigan on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Marilyn was born and raised in Thornville, Michigan. She graduated from Dryden High School. Marilyn married Alfred Dennis in 1955. They lived in Attica, Michigan until retirement in 1979, when they moved to Fairview. Marilyn belonged to MI Trail riders for many years and loved her horses! She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crafting. She liked puzzle books and cooking for her family. She loved to teach her arts and was known for her generosity, kindness, and giggles.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Michael (Cindy) and Tammy (Jeremiah); her grandchildren: Brian (Lisa), Daniel (Heather), Loren (Samantha), Melanie (Dwayne), Samantha (Austin), and Jennifer; and her great-grandchildren: Adyson, Aleah, Wyatt, Keegan, Cott, Willow, Kagen, Neana, Neveah, Jeremiah, Christian Zane and one on the way, Jada, Jalayna, Maria, and Luis. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Gilbert (Shirley) Dennis and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents: Harry & Evelyn Smith, her husband Alfred, her sisters: Clara Mae Westphal and Sharon Smith, her brother-in-law Walter Westphal, and Jessica Babcock.

Visitation on Friday, February 23, 2024, 2024 from 2 – 8 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and again on Saturday, February 24,2024 from 10 AM until Funeral Services at 11 AM. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
