Marie Yoder

June 11, 1928 — November 3, 2020

Marie Yoder, age 92 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Marie was born June 11, 1928 to Eli and Catherine (Knepp) Yoder. She was born and raised on a farm north of Fairview. Marie married J. Paul Yoder on January 19, 1950. To this union, five daughters were born: Kathy Coats, Gail Yoder, Janice (Garry) Handrich, Edith (Dan) Welch, and Linda (Sam) Dice; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 expected great-grandson, and 1 expected great-great-grandchild. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years; her parents; three brothers: Rufus Yoder, Henry Yoder, and Joseph Yoder; two infant siblings: William & Edna; one grandchild Cinda Handrich; 2 sons-in-law: Tom McIntire and William Coats.

Marie was an active member of the Comins Community Church for many years, serving as the church Treasurer and also as a member of The Women In Mission. She had a love for quilting and helped to make many quilts for the Relief Sale, as well as making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Marie was employed at the Fairview Hardware for thirty-three years where she enjoyed working with and serving people. She liked to be surrounded by people and music, and so was a great supporter of "Open Mike Productions" of Comins. Marie was a member of the Mio/Luzerne Red Hat Society, and had been a member of the AuSable Valley Nursing Home Auxiliary. She had also been a volunteer at The Family Bookshelf in Fairview. Marie’s favorite Bible verse: John 3:16; For God so loved the world that He gave his only son that who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Visitation Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 4 – 8 PM at the Comins Community Church, Comins, Michigan, and also on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 5 PM until Funeral Services at 6 PM with Pastor David Price officiating. A Private Interment will occur at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
