Marie E. Jex

Marie E. Jex, age 93, of Lewiston, formerly of Fort Gratiot, MI, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at The Home at AuSable Community in Fairview, MI.  In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM, at the North Gate Bible Church, 4311 Pine Grove Ave, Fort Gratiot, MI 48059. Interment of ashes to take place at Kinney Cemetery, Fort Gratiot.
Marie was born on October 29, 1916 to Frank and Anna (Draveling) Leach in Port Huron, MI.  She married Fenton B. Jex on June 5, 1937 in Port Huron, MI.  She moved to Lewiston with her daughter Mavis in 2000, and has been a resident of the Home at AuSable Valley Community since 2005.  Marie had been a member of the North Gate Bible ""Baptist"" Church; the Fort Gratiot Fire Department Auxiliary; Little League; the Lions Club Auxiliary; the Fort Gratiot P.T.A.;  the Fort Gratiot March of Dimes; the Fort Gratiot Township Election Board; a Census Worker; and bowling leagues.  She also supported the Port Huron National Guard and their activities.
Surviving are her children:  Ronald Jex of Lewiston, MI; David Jex of Lewiston, MI; and Mavis (Jack) Lytle of Cape Coral, FL; her sisters:  Mildred Jex of Fort Gratiot, MI, and Edith Chaney of Lapeer, MI; 3 grandchildren:  Michelle (Jim), Sherri, and Skip (Georgeann); 6 great grandchildren:  Melissa, Kayanna, Mavrick, Jaxson, Cierra, and Chandler; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fenton B. in 1993, and her infant son Fenton, Jr. in 1941.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the wishes of the family.
