February 4, 1925 – August 16, 2026, age 101, of Roscommon, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at Intercept Healthcare in Roscommon, Michigan.

Margaret lived a remarkable 101 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, strength, and countless memories. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who dedicated much of her life to the family she loved so dearly. Margaret was especially devoted to raising her grandchildren, including Rene Welser and Cord Dwigans and she played a deeply meaningful role in shaping their lives. She was more than a grandmother - she was a mother, a caregiver, a source of comfort, and a steady presence throughout their lives. For the past 30 years, Rene had the privilege of caring for Margaret and giving back to her some of the love and devotion Margaret had given throughout the years.

Margaret was a mischievous little lady with a sparkle in her eye and a personality all her own. She could be ornery, funny, stubborn, and loving, and she had a way of bringing laughter and warmth to those around her. Her family will forever remember that special twinkle in her eye and the mischievous spirit that made her so uniquely Margaret. For the past 14 years, Margaret lived with dementia. Although the disease gradually changed many aspects of her life, it could never diminish the love her family had for her or erase the memories she had created throughout her long and beautiful life.

Margaret was lovingly cared for during her later years by the compassionate staff at Intercept Healthcare in Roscommon. Her family is deeply grateful for the love, kindness, dignity, and care they provided to Margaret. The staff who cared for her became an important part of her extended family, and their love for her will never be forgotten.

Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lee Dwigans; daughter, Joan Dwigans; and grandchildren, Anthony Roemer and Cord Dwigans. She is survived by her grandchildren, Dwight Roemer and Rene Welser, along with several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory and the legacy of her love with them for generations to come.

At 101 years old, Margaret leaves behind a lifetime of stories, lessons, laughter, and love. While her family mourns the loss of a woman who meant so much to them, they find comfort knowing that she is finally at peace and free from the struggles of dementia. We can imagine Margaret now with that familiar twinkle in her eye, reunited with those she loved and perhaps already getting into a little mischief.

Rest peacefully, Granny. You raised us, you loved us, and you will forever live in our hearts. Until we meet again.
