Margaret K. (Lee) Brigham
Mrs. Margaret K. Brigham, 98 died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at the home of her nephew, John ""Skip"" and Jeanne Lee, where she had made her home since May of 2006.
Visitation took place 12-2PM on December 5, 2007 at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, with service following. Celebration of her entrance to Heaven began at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Stadelmayer officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview along with seven other Lee family members.
Margaret was born October 13, 1909 to Dr. Frederick and Emma (Young) Lee, and raised in Kentucky and Michigan. She was the widow of Dr. E.L. Brigham, and lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan until retiring on Emerald Lake at Evart, Michigan.
Margaret taught school until retiring, mostly in Ypsilanti and taught teachers at the University of Michigan. Her first job was teaching in Luzerne, in a one-room all grades school, and having to start the wood stove for heat in the winter.
Margaret is survived by many nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Frederick & Emma Lee, husband Eldon Brigham, brothers: John & James, and sisters Dorothy Bain and Sarah Blamer.
Arrangements were handled by Lashley Funeral Home in Mio.
