Mae L. Adams

Mae Lillian Adams, age 87, of Lupton, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan.Mae was born in Lupton, MI on June 19, 1924 to Joseph and Lillian (Roe) Vaughan.  She married Vernon Adams on February 19, 1940 in Lupton.  She was a homemaker who loved her family very much. She was known as ""Aunt Mae"" by dozens of children.  Mae was a member of the Lupton Friends Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher or baby sat in her home.  She loved her church and was a faithful worker for 50 years.  Mae was also an active member of the DAV Auxiliary of Ogemaw Hills #73 and was often seen selling poppies.  She enjoyed cross stitch embroidery and doing picture puzzles.  Mae was a wonderfully warm, friendly and generous lady that made all feel richer for knowing her.Mae was the mother of Jo Anne Pope, Vernon L. (Carole) Adams, Jr., Patricia (Gary) Pittsenbarger,  Bradley (Rose) Adams, Geraldine (Dave) Guest and Verna (Terry) Gillette.  She also is survived by her 91 year old sister Mary Belle Humphrey, her sister-in-law Lurlie Vaughan and her brother-in-law George Matthews, Sr.  Mae loved her family and especially her 14 grandchildren,, 35 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vernon L. Adams, Sr. on October 13, 2000; her daughter; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; and her granddaughter.Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 10:00 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at the Lupton Friends Church, Lupton, MI. Pastor Matthew Smith officiating with a D.A.V. Auxiliary Service offered by the D.A.V. Auxiliary of Ogemaw Hills #73.  Interment at Lane Heights Cemetery, Lupton.Memorials may be made to: D.A.V.
