Lorna J. Palmer

Lorna Jane (Janie) Money Houlton Palmer was called home to our Lord on June 22, 2020 from Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC. Janie was born to Glennie and Ralph Money on March 15, 1932 in Mio, Michigan. She was predeceased by her parents and 8 siblings and by her loving husband Robert (Bob) Houlton (56 years) and Richard Palmer (11 years). Janie was active for many years at the United Methodist Church in Mio, MI where she served on many committees, including as a beloved leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship group. She sang in the church choir and loved singing at various services and celebrations. She had a career as Office Manager of Kirtland Agency in Mio for over 20 years. Janie is survived by her brother Kenneth Money of Grayling, MI , four children; Steven (wife Julee Thayer) of Fairbanks, AK, Syndee (husband Doug Couron) of Fayetteville, NC, Susan (husband Craig Vishe) of Lenoir, NC), Stacey (husband Tim Devooght) of Coal Valley, IL , 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday October 3 ^rd 1:00 pm at the Mio United Methodist Church, 1101 8 ^th Street, Mio, MI followed by internment at the Mentor Township Cemetery.   The family requests all who attend to wear a mask and follow recommended social distancing guidelines at the church and graveside services.
