Loretta H. Kischnick, age 85 of Lewiston, Michigan, passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Loretta was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 21, 1941 to Maurice and Loretta MacArthur. She attended and graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1959. She met John “Jack” Kischnick, and they were married on March 12, 1978. Together, they owned and managed KC Engineering & Machine Company in Saginaw, Michigan until they retired. Loretta and Jack moved to Red Oak, Michigan, where she worked as the Greenwood Township clerk. They then moved to Lewiston, Michigan, where Loretta lived for the remainder of her years. She had been a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, the Daughters of the Nile, and the Eastern Star. Loretta was loved and respected for her wit and humor. She was a talented and dedicated wife, mother, and friend.

Loretta is survived by her husband John “Jack” Kischnick; her children: Polly and Stewart (wife Michelle); her stepsons: Brett (wife Anne) and Brian; her grandchildren: Karley, Andrew, Aaron, Richard, Amber, Brendan, and Katelyn; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families, with whom she was very close. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her son Richard Stolz; her stepson Robert Kischnick; her brothers: Maurice “Buddy” MacArthur and John “Jack” MacArthur; her sisters: Salley Zorn, Jane Vedoris, and Nancy Rottman; and her grandson Zackery Kischnick.

In accordance with Loretta’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
