Lois was born and raised in Detroit Michigan by her German parents Arthur and Clara Srull and moved to Mio for further residency with her husband Donald. Lois was in the first graduating class of Detroit Lutheran High. As an avid reader Lois worked for the Detroit Public Library for 20 years and often shared her love of reading by donating books to local facilities. Paired with reading, Lois was an avid writer also. As she became known locally as "The Card Lady," her aspiration was to ensure everyone had a personalized message in each card written in her most elegant handwriting. Through all of her connections, generosity, and friendship to others, Lois J. Wehrmeister will be missed.
