Lois M. Musser

Mrs. Lois Marie Musser, age 93, of McCollum Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at her home. With the assistance of Heartland Hospice, her family was able to honor her last wish to pass away peacefully at home.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 1:30 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio with Pastor Virgil Hershberger officiating. Her ashes have been interred at Fairview Cemetery.
Lois was born on February 15, 1916 in Fairview to Arnold and Faye (Hopkins) Handrich. She was a homemaker who loved her home at the Lake. Lois was known in the McCollum Lake Area by two nicknames: ""The Lady of the Lake""; and, because of her love for the loons, folks were inspired to call her ""The Loon Lady"" as well.
Lois is survived by her children: John (Lynn) Kolvoord of Mio, and Tim (Jennifer) Kolvoord of Hermosa Beach, California; her brother Ellsworth (Mary Alice) Handrich of Fairview; and her grandchildren: Hadley, Christina, and Peter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Jerry Peters, Clayton Kolvoord, and Bob Musser; her sister Wanda Atherton; and her brother Bob Handrich.
