Lloyd Dalton Troyer

Lloyd Dalton Troyer, born 11/20/34, died 1/18/14 at Wellsprings Lutheran Services; Fairview MI. Lloyd was born in Mio, MI to Roman and Lunette (Hershberger) Troyer. He served in 1-W service for Goodwill Industries in Flint, MI where he met and married Katie Miller from Goshen, IN on 10/18/57. He is survived by his wife Katie, Mio, MI; three daughters: Lois Troyer, Lorna Troyer both of Goshen, IN, Lunette "Lou" (Ray) Caples, Middlebury, IN and one son Lyle (Syrena) Troyer, Fairview, MI; six grandchildren: Alyssa, Christyan "Boomer" and Kelcie Caples, Chad (Bridgette), Cody and Janae Troyer, Fairview, MI; one great grandchild, Alexi Joy Troyer and another great grandchild due any day; "special grandchildren": Marcy, Andy, Dalton & Gretchen Showalter, Goshen, IN, 2 brothers: Ken (Joan) Troyer, Comins, MI and Mel (Dorothy) Troyer, Monument, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Phyllis Arlene Banks. He spent most of his life as a dairy farmer and a truck driver. He served as the Oscoda County Soil Conservation Chairman for many years until his death. He accepted Christ as a youth and was a lifetime member of the Fairview Mennonite Church where he was the Head Usher for more than 25 years.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 4-9 p.m. at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI and on Wednesday, Jan 22, one hour prior to the 11:00 AM service at the Fairview Mennonite Church. Officiating will be Ray Caples and Phil Bontrager. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
