Lillian Agnes Hoy, age 94, of Mio, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, at her residence.
Lillian was born on November 15, 1915 to John and Josephine (Samek) Prentiss in Goetzville, MI and moved to Detroit as a teenager. During WWII, she worked for Champion Spark Plug in Detroit. While living there, she met and married Raymond Hoy in 1945. They moved to Mio in 1950, where they operated a dairy farm. She also worked at Essex Wire of Atlanta until retiring at age 62. Lillian enjoyed travelling and lived in South Carolina until returning to Mio three years ago.
Lillian is survived by her children: Gary Hoy of Sarasota, FL; Gene Hoy of Mio, MI; Shirley Muse of Port St. Lucy, FL; Gerald Hoy of Fredericksburg, VA; and Ronald Hoy also of Virginia; her sister Dorthy Wooley of Detroit, MI; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond Hoy in 1985; and her brother Joseph.
Visitation Saturday, May 29, 2010, from 10 AM-1PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, until the time of the Funeral service at 1 PM, officiated by Father Raymond Cotter of St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, MI.
