Lila May Weighman, age 95 of Luzerne, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday October 20, 2022.
Lila was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 9, 1927, to the late William E. Noyes and Jenny E. Barror Noyes. She attended Saginaw High School, and worked at a pickle factory in Saginaw, as well as Lufkin Rule. She later handled the bookkeeping and finances for Bud’s Body Shop in Luzerne, Michigan which was owned and operated by Lila Weighman and her late husband Wallace D. Weighman. Lila had three brothers and two sisters: Robert E. Noyes Evelyn C. Noyes (Brown), Edward W. Noyes, Maxine M. Noyes (O’dette), and Francis R. Noyes. Lila Married the late Wallace D. Weighman on May 25, 1946 and later moved to Luzerne Michigan in 1954. Lila had three daughters and one son, Vickie L. Weighman (Brown), Judy K, Weighman (Daines), Gary W. Weighman, and Laurie Ann Weighman. Lila was an extremely loving, caring, and compassionate woman, and the foundation of not only her husband and children but her grandchildren as well. She was very strong minded and could overcome any obstacle or tragedy that was laid before her. Lila was an avid member of the Woman’s Mio Bowling League back in the late 1970’s. Lila loved gardening, flowers, traveling, animals, and most of all grandbabies.
Lila is survived by her daughter Vickie L. Brown (spouse / late Joe Brown), and grandsons (listed in order of age): Scott A. Brown (Spouse / Becky Brown) and Mark D. Brown, Corey W. Weighman (Spouse / Jamie Weighman), and Kevin L. Weighman. Granddaughters (listed in order of age): Renee M. Brown, Laurie A Smith, CaTrena M. (Weighman) Schied (Spouse / Scott Schied), Tracy L. Weighman, Karen S. (Smith) Brown (Spouse / Corey Brown), Kimberly S. Varacka (Spouse / Mike Varacka), 34 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Jenny E. Barror-Noyes, father William E. Noyes, Sister Evelyn C. Noyes (Brown), sister Maxine M. Noyes (O’dette), brother Edward W. Noyes, brother Francis R. Noyes, husband Wallace D. Weighman, son Gary W. Weighman, daughter Laurie A. Weighman, daughter Judy K. Weighman (Daines), son -in-law Joe A Brown, and granddaughter Kristie Smith-Spann.
As per Lila’s strict instructions, there will not be a memorial service just a small family gathering at Luzerne Cemetery.
Lila will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.
