Mr. Levi J. Troyer, 87, of Fairview, passed away Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community.
Visitation Friday 4-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Funeral Services held at The Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 30th, with Levi's cousin The Pastor William Miller officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
Levi was born on March 19, 1922 in Mio, Michigan to the late John and Anna (Miller) Troyer.
He married Beulah E. (Short) Troyer on May 10, 1942 in Wauseon, Ohio, then they moved to Fairview.
Levi had pastored at Maple Grove Brethern in Christ Church in Rust, MI for 11 years; had worked as a custodian at Mio AuSable Schools for 18 years; and had worked in locksmithing for a time. Levi was a member of Fairview Mennonite Church for many years.
Surviving are his 5 children: J. Marvin (Mary Jean) Troyer of Fairview; Rhoda Williams (fiancé Roger Zinn) of Portland, Michigan; Levina (Wayne) Miller of Newport News, Virginia; Roger L. (Verda) Troyer of Mantua, Ohio; and Shelia (Paul) Heil of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; his sisters: Delilah (Menno) Chupp, Ruby (Lewie) Miller, Edith (William) Hooley, and Wanda (Mike) Foster; his brothers: Paul (Fanny) Troyer, Ray (Linda) Troyer, Clyde (Dorothy) Troyer, and Otis (Jane) Troyer; 12 granchildren and 10 great grandchildren
Levi was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Beulah E. (Short) Troyer, and his granddaughter Angela.
