Leslie Ray ""Les"" Gardner, age 70, of Mio, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Bortz Health Care of Rose City. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Les was born on July 30, 1939 to James and Edna Mae (Oaks) Gardner in Flint, MI. He served his country in the US Army. Les moved to Mio in the 1950â??s, and married Pauline ""Polly"" Densmore on May 11, 1966 in Comins, MI. Les was a laborer who worked at numerous jobs across the country during his life. He even worked for a time as a roustabout, traveling with the circus. Les also volunteered at the Oscoda County Food Pantry. He collected Frisbees and ""Hot Wheels"" cars; and had a great interest in model trains. Surviving are his wife Pauline Ann ""Polly"" Gardner; his son William Kildow of Bellaire, MI; his step-children: Jack (Linda) Densmore of Plainwell, MI, and Faith Ann (Ken) Laughlin of Collegedale, TN; his sisters: Lila ""Sue"" Fortier of Saginaw, MI, and Alice Gardner of Flint, MI; his brothers: Douglas Knibbs of Junction City, CA, and Karl Knibbs of Las Vegas, NV; his granddaughter Emily Kildow of Bellaire, MI; his step-grandchildren: Tony, Catina, and Anna Densmore; and Katlin and K.J. Laughlin; and his step-great grandchildren: Jordan and Remi Densmore. Les was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, 335 E.
