Leota A. “Lee” Jones, age 88 of Comins, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, with her daughter and grandson by her side.
Lee was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 13,1935 to Xavier and Julia (Lehman) Pawloski. Lee and her life-long husband Jerry, Sr. formed Jerilee Corporation and were automotive industrialists for over 40 years in Center Line, Michigan. Their joint career and lifetime was spent in paint production, spanning from government contracts to suppliers for tier one automotive industry. Lee and her family had owned property in Oscoda County since the 1960’s. She had lived in Michigan and wintered in Naples, Florida, moving to Comins from Troy.
She enjoyed golf, reading, playing cards, BINGO, casino road trips, and running up and down the road.
Lee was a devoted, loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was a kind spirit with a love for life. She shared unconditional love with her family, friends, and pets.
Lee is survived by her daughter Julie Ann Jones of Comins, MI; her grandchildren: Dustin Fett and Stefanie Jones-Coleman; 3 great-grandsons: Skyler, Gabriel, and Mason Fett; her niece Rosalyn (Richard) Breen; and a daughter-in-law Renee Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Sr., her sons Jerry, Jr. and Jeffrey, her sister Geraldine Lemanski, and her brother Edward Pawloski.
Lee was a devout Catholic who had been an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio, Michigan, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan, and also making home visits to fellow parishioners. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 11 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, Michigan with Rev. Santiago Hoyumpa as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Loud Township Cemetery, Atlanta, Michigan.
