Laverne E. Krieger

LaVerne E. Krieger, age 87 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at his home on Friday, October17, 2014.
LaVerne was born in Buffalo, New York on October 12, 1927 to Julius and Marie (Collins) Krieger. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Upon returning home, he married Marie Martin on August 28, 1948 in Buffalo, NY. The family moved to Southfield, MI where LaVerne worked for GM Fisher Body Plant in Detroit, retiring in 1989. The couple settled in Mio in 1991. He enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, hunting and boating.
LaVerne is survived by his wife of 66 years Marie of Mio, MI; his children: Dave Krieger of Fairview, MI and Karyn Krieger of Ypsilanti, MI; and 3 grandchildren: Remy Sherman of Belleville, MI; and Sean and Valerie Tranchida of Farmington, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Michael; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
