Lavange "Kay" Hammond

Lavange Kay Hammond, age 65 of Mio, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 1, 2014 in Grayling.
Kay was born on June 16, 1948 in Flint, Michigan to Lee and Edith (Hort) Shaw. She moved to Mio in 1980. She had worked as a Nurse’s Aide at AuSable Valley Home; and had also worked for Troyer IGA and River House Shelter in Grayling. She was a member of the Mio New Hope Assembly of God Church.
Kay is survived by her children: Dennis (Jena) Hammond of Traverse City, MI; Melissa (Jamie) McIntyre of Travelers Rest, SC; and Marjorie Hammond of Mio, MI; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Levi.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 11AM – 1 PM at the Mio New Hope Assembly of God Church in Mio, MI with Funeral Services at 1 PM with Pastor Russell Bowman officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
