Laurel Francis

Laurel ""Jean"" Francis, age 69 of Mio, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
Jean was born in Unionville, PA on January 2, 1941 to Eugene and Grace (Miller) Wardle.  She married John Francis on February 25, 1961 in Detroit, MI.  The family lived in Romulus, MI, where Jean was a homemaker and mother.  She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and practical jokes.  The couple moved to Mio in 1996, after having vacationed in the area since 1988.  Jean had enjoyed bowling on leagues while living in Mio.
Surviving are her husband John B. Francis, Sr.; her children: Johnetta Francis of Huntington, WV; Vickie (Danny) Kelly of Taylor, MI; and John B. Francis, Jr. (Sandra) of Brownstown, MI; her sisters Linda and Posey; her grandchildren:  Dawn, Jonathan, Jessica, Steven, and Patricia; and her great grandchildren: Devin, Corey, Siera, John, and Rylie.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Eugene Francis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 2-9 PM with a prayer service at 8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan, and from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Lashley Funeral Home with Pastor Ervin Francis officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
