Larinda Rae Butcher

Larinda Rae Butcher, age 61 of Wheeler, Michigan, passed away in St. Charles at Union Court Assisted Living Facility on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Larinda was born in Wheeler, Michigan on May 3, 1963 to Larry and Marilyn Butcher.  She grew up on the family farm near Merrill, Michigan and attended church school for her elementary years.  She attended Cedar Lake Academy for her high school years, graduating in 1982.  She married and moved to Alberta, Canada in 1985 and lived there until 2022, returning to Michigan due to declining health.  She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Twin Cities Church in Alma, Michigan.  Larinda enjoyed animals, especially her last dog, Isaiah.  She also liked to knit, crochet, cross stitch and other craft projects.

Larinda is survived by her parents, Larry and Marilyn Butcher; her children, Michael (Jessica) Steinke, Matthew (Analicia) Steinke and Mark Steinke; her sisters, Lynel/Dee (Kevin) Horn and LaRayne/Buzz (Greg) Leuenberger.  She is also survived by her nieces Kristi (Ryan) Williams and Katie (David) Thomas and her nephews Jeff (Femke) Horn, Josh Horn, Cade (Colleen) Leuenberger and Keagan (Bethany) Leuenberger.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents William & Myrtle Butcher and Frank & Bernice Booth.

The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Union Court in St. Charles for the kindness and gentle care that was given to Larinda.  Also thank you to them for the love and support shown to the family.  Worker after worker expressed their love and asked if there was anything they could do to help.  Thank you, Thank you.

Larinda's family will remember her privately with interment at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
