Kathryn Granger

Mrs. Kathryn B. Granger, age 95, of Mio, MI, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011, with her family by her side, at The Home at AuSable Valley Community in Fairview.

Kathryn was born on April 19, 1916 in Hastings, Michigan.  She married Neil Lee Granger on April 8, 1945 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  They moved to Red Oak in 1959, where she and Neil owned and operated The Parmalee Store from 1959-1971.  They also owned Granger Forest Products, a logging company, where Kathryn helped Neil with the bookkeeping, until retiring in 1980.  She enjoyed gardening, needlework, reading, and crossword puzzles.

Kathryn is survived by her husband Neil Lee Granger; her children:  Sharon (Arnold) Wyckoff of Mio, MI; and Ronald (Carol) Hathaway of Houston, TX; her step-son Robert (Charlene) Keller of Hastings, MI; and her many, many  grandchildren,  great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Homer Bauchman; and her son Frank Granger.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and services will be held at a later date.  Interment of ashes will take place at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
