Kathleen Marie Osterbeck

Kathleen Marie Osterbeck, age 57, of Mio, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
She was raised in West Bloomfield, MI and moved to Mio in 1974 after graduating from Oakland University when she began teaching lower elementary at Mio AuSable Schools. She taught kindergarten since 1984. Besides her teaching career of 34 years, she enjoyed caring for her cats, gardening, watching the backyard
wildlife and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Tri-Township Firebells and EMT. A caring and nurturing soul, she touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial service is planned at Mio AuSable School on Saturday, November 28th at 1:00 p.m. to be officiated by Rev. Robert Case.
She leaves behind her husband Tom Osterbeck; 3 sisters: Carol (William) Ellis of Saginaw, Leslie (Mark) Willett of Charlevoix and Michele (Frank) Paretti of Mt. Pleasant, along with 2 brothers: Larry (Jodi) Leaf of Mio and Gary (Tammy) Leaf of Traverse City; step-mother Helen Leaf of Mio and step-siblings: Dorothy (Dan) Belanger of Mio, Jim (Kay) Anderson of Roscommon, Kelvin (Shelley) Anderson of Naples, FL, Lynnette (Bob) Fitzsimmons of Elkhart, IN, Corrina (Richard) VanBeest of Mio and Helen (Sean) DeFlorio of Mio. She will also be missed by her 19 nieces, 12 nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Bev and Rod Leaf of Mio.

through Mio School or Northland Federal Credit Union or Ogemaw County Humane Society.
