Mrs. Katherine R. Larkin, age 79, of Mio, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at her home. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Katherine was born on April 22, 1929 in Comins Township to Earnest and Susie (Hershberger) Stutesman. She moved to Mt. Morris, Michigan, where she worked for General Motors in Flint. She returned to Mio in the 1970â??s. Katherine was owner of the Rainbow Resort in Mio for 10 years. She was also a member of the Mio Moose Lodge.
Katherine is survived by her sisters: Norma Michellod of Freeport, MI and Betty Neff of Mio, MI; her brother Willard (Fran) Stutesman of Mio, MI; her niece Tina Johnson and her nephew Larry Stutesman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: John Lunning, John Zarro, and Dick Larkin; her infant son Richard Larkin; her stillborn twins: Karen & Sharon Larkin; and her sisters: Luella Deyarmond, Lettie Pineo, and Emmagene Kalafut; and her brothers: Earnest, Levi, Noah, Harry, and Virgil Stutesman.
