Justin S. (Red) Hancock
Mr. Justin S. (Red) Hancock, 86, of Red Oak, was received into Heaven, cradled in the loving arms of Jesus, on Saturday, November 24th, 2007 at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
Visitation Monday, November 26th 1-5 & 7-9 PM at The Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Funeral Services at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 27th, with Pastor Russell Bowman officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
Justin was born on March 30, 1921 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Herbert & Buelah (Stricklan) Hancock. He served his country during World War II, working in the factories, making ammunition for the war effort.
He worked as a Tool & Die Maker for General Motors for more than 30 years, retiring as supervisor in 1977 from Pontiac Motors. He loved bowling, pool, hunting, fishing and building furniture. He did remodeling work all over Oscoda County
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Carole Louise (Baynes) Hancock; daughter: Carole Crook of Waterford, MI; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son: Butch Gladding.
Red will be remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and ""adopted"" grandpa to many.
