June Eleanore Green passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007, at her home in Comins, surrounded by loving family and friends.
Visitation Monday 5-9 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio and Tuesday, June 5, 2007 from 1:00 PM until the time of Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, Mio with Pastor Elizabeth Chace officiating. Interment to follow at Clinton Township Cemetery, Comins, MI.
June was born June 24, 1915 to the late Walter and Minnie (McKellar) Klein in Rust Township, Montmorency County, Michigan. She was married to her husband of 71 years, Wendell H. Green at the Episcopal Church in Alpena on May 23, 1936. June began her long teaching career at the one-room Turtle Lake School in Montmorency County, moved from there to the Comins Elementary School, and completed her career at Fairview Area Schools. June's outgoing, cheery attitude led her into an active social life that included, among other things, traveling, china painting, camping, gardening, and memberships in many local clubs including the Comins Eagles auxiliary. She and her husband were members of, and faithfully attended, services and activities at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Mio.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell H. Green of Comins and four sons: Robert (Mary Lou) Green of Fairview, Linwood (Maria) Green of Comins, Donald (Sue) Green of Holt, and Steven (Barbara) Green of Mio. Her grandchildren are Tamara Green of Fairview, Pamela (Steven) Sendek of Grayling; Melanie (James) Chiodini of Petoskey, Robert (Mary Jo) Green of Gaylord, Melinda Green of Fairview, Cindy (Duane) Troyer of Fairview, Monte (Leslie) Green of Comins, Sandy (Sheryll) Green of Comins, Micky (Barbara Kay) Green of Comins, Robin (Dave) Wilson of Holt, Don Jr. (Pam) Green of Holt, Dana (Jim) Parker of Fairview, Steve Jr. of Mio, Eli R. Green (deceased), and many, many great grandchildren. There is no way to know how many lives Grandma June has touched through the years. We will miss her.
