J.R. Teeples

J.R. Teeples, age 86, of Mio, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI.

J.R. was born on November 25, 1923 to Oscar and Georganna Teeples.  He served his country in the US Cavalry and in the US Army Infantry during WWII.  J.R. worked for Fendt Transit Mix in Farmington, MI as a truck driver, retiring in 1980.  He and his wife Doris moved to Mio in 1980 from Walled Lake, MI. J.R. was a member of the Mio VFW Post #4126. He enjoyed hunting deer and rabbits.  J.R. will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

J.R. is survived by his children:  Jim Teeples (Teresa Casey) of Northville, MI; Terry (Patty) Teeples of Manistique, MI; and Dan (Joyce) Teeples of Mio, MI; 3 sisters:  Betty Jean Avery of Mio, MI; Catherine (Bill) Jennings of Rose City, MI; and Deda Arntz, also of Rose City, MI; 5 brothers:  Bob (Barb) Teeples ; and Laverne (Louise) Teeples , both of Flint, MI; Acel (Judy) Teeples ; Louie (Betty) Teeples; and Ellis Teeples, all of Rose City, MI; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Doris; 3 sisters:  Gladys, Eva, and Dorothy; and his brother Lawrence.

Visitation Friday, October 8, 2010, from 5-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, and again on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 10 AM  until the time of funeral service at 11 AM at Lashley Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Harmon officiating.  Interment at Luzerne Cemetery, with military honors by the Mio VFW Post #4126.
