Joyce Lucille Popps

Mrs. Joyce Lucille Popps, age 82, of Mio, passed away Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community, Fairview, MI.Joyce was born in Detroit on June 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Albert and Gladys (Stevens) Schrott. She was raised in Mio and graduated from Mio High School Class of 1946. She married Ezekiel C. Popps on July 18, 1946 at The Mio Church of God. The family moved to Flint for a few years, settling back in Mio. Joyce attended the Mio Church of God and, in their younger years, she and Zeke had been very active in church activities. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed flowers gardening, camping and fishing trips with Zeke and spending time with her grandchildren and many friends.Surviving are her children: David (Linda) Popps of Goodrich, Ml and Beverlee (Dale) Keyser of Lansing, Ml; grandchildren: David Popps, Lisa Popps and Dustin Dale-Popps (Erin) Keyser; her great grandson Ezekiel ""Zekie"" Keyser, sisters in law: Linda Rounding of Flushing, Ml and Maxine (Clare) Keif of Waterford and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 62 years, Ezekiel C. Popps and sister in law Betty Hehn.Visiting Friday, June 11, 2010 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio and again on Saturday 12th, at The Mio Church of God from 12 noon until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Russell Bowman, of Mio New Hope Assembly of God Church, officiating.  Interment at Kittle Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to: Hospice Advantage. 401 Center Ave, Ste. 150, Bay City, MI 48708.Arrangements by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.
