Joseph Clinton Liberty

Joseph Clinton Liberty, Jr, age 80, of Fairview, MI, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at his residence.

Joe was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 14, 1937, a son of the late Genevieve (Magulski) and Joseph Liberty.

He graduated from Fordson High School Class of 1955. After receiving his journeyman training, Joe worked for the Cadillac Motor Company as a tool maker, then he opened his own business "Liberty Gears" in January of 1973. Joe married Cheryl Lynn Liberty on December 27, 1995 at the "Little White Chapel" in Taylor, MI. The couple settled in Fairview, where Joe was a 25 year member of and served as past Worthy President at the Comins Eagles #3544 .

Joe will be remembered as an avid drag racer, deer hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years: Cheryl L. Liberty; Children: Victoria (William) Murdock, Renee Liberty and Craig (Joelanne) Liberty; 6 grandchildren; stepchildren: Charlene, Dawn, Ron (Dawn) and Sean (Donna) and 9 step-grandchildren.

In accordance with Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Committal Services will be held at White Chapel Cemetery Mausoleum in Troy, MI at a later date.
