Joseph W. Hart

Mr. Joseph W. Hart, age 76, of Lewiston, passed away Monday July 7, 2008 at his home.
Visitation Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 11 AM-1 P.M. at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Ml, followed by Military Honors offered by the Luzerne American Legion Post #162 at 1 PM. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the service.
Mr. Hart was born to Norman and Alta (Furlong) Hart in Detroit, Ml on February 10, 1932. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for Husband Transport, which later came to be known as C.N.N., retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service. He and his beloved wife Davidia moved to Lewiston from Detroit in 1986, following his retirement. Joseph was a member of the Luzerne American Legion Post #162, the Roscommon VFW#4159 and the Beaverton F.O.E.
Mr. Hart goes to Heaven leaving his beloved wife of 52 years, Davidia; his 6 children: William (Susanna) Hart, Charlotte Hart Priest, John Hart, Shirley (Mark deceased) Giles, Joseph N. (Tammy) Hart and Lt. Col. Peter (Daina) Hart; his brother John(Rose) Hart; his 11 grandchildren: Michael, John, William, Marcus, Madonna, Amanda, Daniel, Crystal, Pvt. Kyle, Peter and Joseph; and his 9 great grandchildren: Brandon, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Nathen, William, Antonio, Johnathen, Enrico and Austin. His sister-in-law Nellie (Larry) White, his brother-in-law David (Lyne) Stephenson and 19 nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
These arrangements were entrusted to Lashley Funeral Home of Mio, Michigan.
