Joseph S. Drenovski

February 23, 1945 — September 17, 2025

Luzerne, Michigan

Joseph Drenovski, 80, passed away September 17, 2025 at Edwards AFC in West Branch, MI. Born in Flint, MI on February 23, 1945 to the late Anna (Balish) and John Drenovski. Joe attended school for many years through Genesee County Association for Retarded Citizens. GCARC was founded by his parents, along with others with handicapped children. It is now know as the Vocational Independence Program. After his mother's death, he and his father lived with Joe's sister, Julie Paradise for a number of years before and after his father's death. He moved to Mio, MI to live with his other sister, Catherine Venable. While there, he made many friends in Group Mental Health. Jaime Booth and Jackie West continued to be loving friends to the end. Due to failing health, he was placed in Edwards AFC, where he was loved and cared for.

Joe loved music, and would listen to records all day. He loved cutting pictures out of magazines and gluing them to paper. He also loved everyone around him. Joe was the best brother and uncle to all of us. He is survived by his sisters, Julie Paradise of Park City, UT, and Catherine Venable of Mio, MI, nieces, Anne (Dale) Poyner of Mio, MI, Theresa (Keith) Peetsch of Washington, MI, LynnMarie (Mark) McArthur of Belleville, MI, Joan (George - deceased) Fowler of Mio, MI, Laura (Lou) Jacklyn of Washington, MI, Susan (Bill) Eichman of Mio, MI, and Marie (Brian) McClelland of Park City, UT. He has many great nieces and nephws, as well as cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna, and brother-in-law, Bob Venable.

Special thank yous to the staff of Edwards AFC, and to LynnMarie for everything you handled over the last three years.

There will be a memorial Mass on October 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mio, MI.

Family and friends will gather at 1:00 PM at Kittle Hall in Mio, MI.

He will be laid to rest on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM next to his parents in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint, MI.
