Joseph Devarenne

Joseph William Devarenne, age 90, of Fairview, passed away at The Home at AuSable Valley Community, on Saturday, April 6, 2013.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danvers, Massachusetts, at a later date, with interment of ashes to follow at Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers, Massachusetts.
Joseph was born in Danvers, MA on March 22, 1923 to Arthur and Mary (Haggerty) Devarenne.  He graduated from Danvers High School in 1942. He served his country in the US Marine Corps during both WWII and the Korean War, retiring in 1964 in Albuquerque, NM.  He married Shirley (Darling) Devarenne in Tonawanda, NY on April 17, 1982.  The couple moved to Fairview, MI from Tampa, FL, where they had lived for 20 years.  Joseph was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.  He had enjoyed golfing.
Surviving are his wife Shirley Devarenne of Fairview, MI; his children:  Toni Ann Devarenne of Blackwood, NJ; Teresa (Nathan) Preuss of Cherry Hill, NJ; Barbara Devarenne of Sicklerville, NJ; and Maria(Mark) Devarenne-Zaleski of Brentwood, TN; 2 step-children:  Raymond (Deborah) Darling of Tonawanda, NY; and Linda Darling of Palm Harbor, FL; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his sister Eleanor Digiuseppe of Danvers, MA; and 2 brothers:  John (Ruth) Devarenne of Danvers, MA; and Leo (Sue) Devarenne of Rockport, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters:  Mary and Phyllis
