John Weisgerber, 78, passed away on July 27, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on May 22, 1934 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of John W. and Mary (Beebe) Weisgerber, Sr.   John and his wife Sandra (Sandy), have residences in Mio, Mi and Osprey, FL.

John and Sandy were married in Bowling Green, OH. on July 3, 1953 and enjoyed 59 years of loving marriage.  He graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit.  Like his father before him, John was a firefighter.
John worked for the Fire Department in Roseville MI., for 25 years, where he rose to the position of Lieutenant.  He enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow firefighters and kept in touch with many of them long after his retirement in 1981.  John was the consummate family man, as he was most happy when attending or hosting family gatherings.    He also had a great affection for all animals, especially his much loved English Springer Spaniels, but he adopted many abandoned or stray cats or dogs as well.

John was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rose City and the Faith Lutheran Church in Osprey, FL.  John was a 32nd.degree Mason and belonged to the Royal Order of the Shrine at the Elf Khurafeh Shrine in Clio, MI and the Sahib Shrine Temple in Sarasota, FL.  John wasalso member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Loyal Order of Moose and the Sons of the American Legion.

John is survived by his wife Sandy, and six children; Sherill (Sherrie) Fairbanks (Doug), Wendy Hallmann,  John W. III (Elisa), Mark F. (Doreen),  Terry  O. (Cindy) and Frederick W (Fred).  John is also survived by eight grandchildren;  Keith Jr., Michael, Jamie (Brian) and Heather, Mark John,  Jaclyn, Kelly, Bruce and one great grandson; Shawn, and his brother, Keith (Sue)
John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary (Suzanne).

A Memorial service will be held on Sunday August, 5, 2012 at 3:00 PM at The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Rose City, MI.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ANY ANIMAL RESCUE CENTER, IN MEMORY OF""BIG JOHN"".
