John H. Kennedy

Mr. John H. Kennedy, affectionately referred to as ""Grandpa Jack"", age 97 of Fairview, formerly of Flushing, MI, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011, at The Home at AuSable Valley Community in Fairview, Michigan.John was born on November 11, 1913 in Hardwick, VT to John A. and Mamie (Hall) Kennedy.  He served his country in the US Navy as a Second Class Seaman during WWII in the South Pacific Theater.  He worked as a buyer for Buick Motor Company for many years. John moved to Fairview in 1999 from Flushing.  He was a member of Comins Eagles Aerie # 3544, and the Masonic and Shriners Lodges in Flint.John is survived by his niece Carol Pennell of San Tan Valley, AZ; his nephews: Harold Soule of Welston, MI and John Kaufherr of Flushing, MI; and his dear friends: Linwood and Marla Green of Comins, MI and their family.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years Pauline Kennedy, who Jack referred to as ""A Good Woman""; his brother George Kennedy and his sister Evelyn Kaufherr.In accordance with Johnâ??s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held at The Comins Eagles Club on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1:00, Pastor Cody Gascho officiating, with military honors to follow.
