John "Jack" Kellogg

April 22, 1934 — October 6, 2014

John Lawrence "Jack" Kellogg, Sr., age 80 of Comins, Michigan, passed away at his home on Monday, October 6, 2014.
John was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 22, 1934 to Lawrence Martin and Ruth Rosezelia (Bowden) Kellogg. He moved to Atlanta, MI in the late 1950's, where he worked in the woods, drove truck, operated heavy equipment, and was in the Operating Engineers Union for 10 plus years. He later worked for the Montmorency County Sherriff's Department as a mechanic, retiring after 18 years of service, at which time he settled in Comins. John also did mechanic work for many friends and neighbors, over the years. John was the Past Worthy President of the Comins Eagles Club, Aeries 3544, of which he had been a member since 1980. He enjoyed hunting in Montana for Mule Deer and fishing; fishing especially for walleye and salmon on his boat.
Surviving are his son John L. Kellogg, Jr. (Aloma Huntoon) of Hillman, MI; his special friend: Linda Vogler of Saginaw; his brothers: Don Kellogg of Grayling, MI and Dale Kellogg of Traverse City, MI; 3 grandchildren; Alisha and Albert Lesko and Loren Kellogg; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Mary (Teets) Kellogg; his children: Janet Kellogg, David Kellogg, and Cindy Lesko; and his sisters Ruth Ann Jensen and Sandra Buck.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Comins Eagles Club on Saturday, October 18, 2014 beginning at 1:00 PM.
