John D. Butner

Dennis Butner was born on October 15, 1948 in Wayne Michigan to Joseph and Vietta Butner (Butkiewicz). John passed away at his home on November 4, 2016. John spent his life in his home state of Michigan where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. After working construction in the Detroit area he was able to retire to his long term home in Big Creek Township. He also worked as a volunteer firefighter in the Mio/Luzerne area prior to his retirement. Family and friends were most important to John. He was a wonderful loving father to his four daughters Mary, Karen, Amy and Laura and their families. His grandchildren were a huge source of pride and love. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Mary Cudizo, Karen Butner & Terry Meyers, Amy& amp; Gary Larson, Laura & Richard Haase, 7 grandchildren, his brothers Tim & Joe, his sisters Terese Feener, Joan Schloop & Donna and husband Don Grabowski, their children and grandchildren, extended family and his dear friends.
Scattering of ashes ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8 2016, at 12:00 Noon at his residence. A Memorial Lunch to follow at 1:00 PM at Ma Deeter's in Luzerne.
