John D. Boehringer

John David Boehringer, age 82, of Curran, Mi. went to be with his Lord, Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, after several months of illness.
He was born Sept. 3, 1926, to George and Grace Boehringer, the youngest of six children, in Saginaw.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Field Artillery during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Maryellen Nolan of Curran became his bride on June 3, 1950.
He was employed as a machine operator and inspector at Saginaw Steering Gear for 30 years, retiring in 1985. After lifelong residence in Saginaw, he moved to the Nolan homestead in Curran in 1999. He enjoyed friends and neighbors and being active in the Mitchell Township Citizen's Watch.
He is survived by his wife, Maryellen, daughter and son in law Julie and Jim Karshina of West Bloomfield, Mi., and son and daughter in law David and Cindy Boehringer of Linwood, Mi. He has a loving legacy of eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Grandchildren Jennifer Karshina, Janet (Jeremy) Thorpe, Petty Officer Eric (Chrystal) Boehringer, Barbara Boehringer, Amy (A.J.) MacArthur, Jamie Karshina, Sara Boehringer, and Jimmy Karshina. Great grandchildren Samuel Gearhart and Jack Thorpe. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive as well. He is missed by his loving kitty, Cocoa.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Comins Mennonite Church, Comins, Mi. Mr. John King will be officiating. Full Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars. All are invited to the reception meal following service at the church. Internment will be at the Flynn Valley Cemetery, Curran.
