Joan Marie Porritt

Joan Marie Porritt, age 93 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family members.

Joan was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 14th, 1931 to the late Wilfred and Margaret Fuller. Her family moved to a farm in Andersonville, Michigan in the late 30’s. Joan married William Edward Porritt on September 16, 1950 in Clarkston, Michigan. She is survived by her three loving children, Richard (Joellyn) Porritt, Cindy (Terry) Eichbrecht, George(Terry) Porritt and dear friend Tavia Chicha. She loved being with her grandchildren and their spouses, Kenny, Leah, McKenzie, Dayna, Corey, Marilynn, Jake, Rawley, Emma, Mason and Ashtin and was very blessed to have known her six  great grandchildren Tyler, Maddie, Cameron, Easton, Emery and Mia.  Joan was preceded in death by her three sisters Theresa MacDiarmid, Elizabeth Fuller and Geraldine Pacer.

Joan always made her family a top priority while working beside her husband Bill at the Porritt Dairy and later at Bill's IGA when they moved to Fairview, Michigan in 1975. Joan enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, crosswords, puzzles and playing games such as phase 10 with her family.  Joan was an active member of the Fraternal order of Eagles in Comins Michigan where she enjoyed setting up for bingo for many years. She was a member of Comins Community Church where she enjoyed serving others and sharing her love for Jesus.

Joan will be remembered most by her family for her Sunday morning phone calls, her love for the Detroit Tigers and her dedication to her husband Bill of 74 years.

A celebration of life for Joan is planned for a later date.
