Joan N. Lawrence

Joan N. Lawrence, age 58 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI on Thursday, November 13, 2014.
Joan was born in Pontiac, Michigan on September 22, 1956 to William and Glemmatean “Rita” (Gonser) Shehorn. She moved to Mio in 1994 from Pontiac. Joan was a member of the Mio Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting, embroidery, and crocheting.
Joan is survived by her mother Rita DeVault of Mio, MI; her daughter Tamara Mathers of Mio, MI; her step-children: Greg Allan Lawrence and Ranee Shaw; her sisters: Diane (Gary) Thompson of Waterford, MI; Barbara Ann DeCapo of White Lake, MI; and Bonnie Shaub, also of White Lake, MI; her brother William (Michelle) Shehorn of Keller, TX; 2 step-brothers: Carl DeVault and Lance DeVault, both of Clarkston, MI; 3 grandchildren: Hayden Mathers, Alecksa Mathers, and Novalee Mathers; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; her step-son Michael Lawrence; her son-in-law Joshua Mathers and her stepfather Sterley “Ed” DeVault.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at the Mio Baptist Church, Mio, Michigan on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1 PM.
