Jimmie Green

Mr. Jimmie L. Green, age 63, of Mio, MI, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at his home.
Jimmie was born in Cadillac, Michigan to Ervin Onus and Ruth Naomi (Wilder) Green on July 30, 1947.  He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Jimmie moved to Mio in 1975 from Grand Rapids, MI.  He was a member of Mio Seventh-day Adventist Church, and was also a former member of the Luzerne American Legion Post #162 and the Mio Odd Fellows.  He enjoyed painting, gardening, yard work, and landscaping.
Jimmie is survived by his wife Gloria of Mio; his son Michael J. (Amy) Green of Brooksville, FL; his grandchildren: Ciarra, Kyleigh, and Shianne; his sisters:  Marie (Don) Van Spyker of Grand Rapids, MI; Marabelle (Joe) Castle of Old Town, FL and Marge Law of Watertown, NY; his former wife Denise Kalafut of Mio, MI; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents:  Ervin Green and Ruth Phillips; his step-mother Pauline Mary Green; his sisters:   Lorna Green, Alice Beardsley, and Diane Currer; and his step-sister Becky Fugitt.
Visitation Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 3-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI and again on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 10 AM until funeral service at 11 AM at the Mio Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastors Keith Phillips and Bela Kobor officiating. Interment at Luzerne  Cemetery with Military Honors offered by the Luzerne American Legion Post #162 of Luzerne, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for the wishes of the family.
