Janice Marie Evans

Janice M. Evans, age 82 of Mio, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Janice was born in Curran, Michigan on September 17, 1940 to Ansel and “Goldie” (Ballard) Fullerton. She grew up in Mio and graduated from Mio High School with the Class of 1958. The same year, she married William Evans. They were married for 63 years. Together, they raised three children: Bob, Jeff, and Reece. Janice worked in the manufacturing industry while she and Bill raised their family. After “retiring”, she cared for her grandchildren. Janice was a long-time member of the Mio Seventh-day Adventist Church and volunteered at the church Dorcas. She enjoyed knitting mittens and donated them to local schools. She was also an excellent baker and made many family birthday cakes. Janice will be remembered for her gentle spirit and kindness.

Janice is survived by her husband William, her sons: Bob (Jean), Jeff (Jessica), and Reece (April) Evans; 8 grandchildren: Joshua (Teresa), Chelsea (Chris), Patrick Ruddy, Leah (Brock) Elliot, Ashton (Jennifer) Evans, Britney (Chad) Wright, Kessler Evans, and Tori Evans; and her great-grandchildren: Tommy, Gryffin, Max, Blaine, Bryce, Sam, Brigg, Graham, Jaxson, Montgomery, and Baby Wright. She is also survived by her sister Shirley Devarenne and her brother Donald (Sandy) Fullerton. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ansel and “Goldie”, and her sister Nancy.

Visitation on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 10 AM – 1 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 1 PM with Pastor J. Fred Calkins officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
