Janet Troyer of Fairview passed away on December 20, 2013, at the age of 73. She is survived by her husband, Ron Troyer, their daughter Debbie, and sons Brad and Corey. They also have two daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, two grandaughters-in-law, four step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. This was broken down for future genealogists, but "step" or not, she was just "Grandma" to all the grandkids. Also surviving her are her brother, Chum, sister, Teresa, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a homemaker, before retirement Janet had worked at the Fairview School, Post Office, and bank. For most of her life, she was an active member of the Comins Mennonite Church, serving in several capacities over the years. She was well known for her quilts and comforters, and especially for her crocheted afghans, many of which she cleverly designed herself. Most of these were given away as gifts or donations.
Besides those mentioned above, Janet is leaving behind many relatives and friends. She brightened a lot of lives in this community and will be greatly missed.
